Most of my writing focuses on Christian contexts because it has been the sphere of my own personal experience, my professional work, and most of my research and advocacy. I also hope my writing on the topic of the hidden tactics of abuse will be easy to understand so that you will be able to see an abusive situation more clearly and, as a result, become more empowered to advocate for yourself and others. I also write about ways in which individuals and institutions can act with transparency and promote safety. While the content can be difficult to read at times, I hope it will assist in creating a safer future. I do not believe most people are out to trap us and deceive us, yet those who are can inflict trauma, betrayal, and lasting damage on individuals and communities. I write about the ways in which individuals and institutions use strategies of deception to perpetuate and cover-up abusive behavior.
